Appearance: Opaque, often veined, all sizes often polished

Source: US, Egypt, Mexico, China, Iran, Peru, Poland, Russia, France, Tibet, Afghanistan, Arabia

Turquoise is a copper aluminium phosharte mineral with a triclinic crystal structure and a hardness of 5 to 6.  Its striking blue color is cause by copper.  The name means Turkish stone.
