Facts about Kunzite


Kunzite

 

Element: Water

Colour: Pink, green,  yellow, lilac, clear

Appearance: Transparent or translucent, striated crystal

Source:  Madagascar, US, Brazil, Myanmar, Afghanistan

Kunzite is the pink to violet form of Spodumene, a lithium aluminium silicate with a monoclinic crystal system and a hardness of 6 to 7.  It forms a prismatic crystals with vertical striations.  The main deposits of Kunzite are in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Brazil, Madgascar and California, USA.
