Facts about the Labradorite

Source: Italy, Greenland, Finland, Russia, Canada Scandinavia

Labradorite is a plagioclase feldspar with a triclinic crystal structure and a hardness of 6 to 6.5.  It is treasured for its remarkable play of color (labradorescence) which shows vivid flashes of green blue gold orange red and sometimes violet.  It is found mostly in Canada and Madagascar.
