Onyx is a variety of chalcedony, amember of the Quartz family with a hexagonal crystal system and a hardness of7. Onyx is defined as a banded Chalcedony in which the lines of banding areparallel.

Magic:

· Has a calming effect, which can beused to balance excitability and a quick temper

· Increases introspection, but can alsolead to inertia and withdrawal from everyday activities in some people

· Can make the user or wearer lessnoticeable to others if desired
