Facts About the Spessartine Garnet


Garnet (Spessartine)

Element: Fire, Earth

Colour: Red, orange

Appearance: Tranparent or translucent crystal, often small and faceted or larger opaque piece

Source: Germany, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Madagascar, Sweden and US

Spessartine garnet is a manganese aluminium silicate with a hardness of 7 to 7.5.  It derived its name from Spessart, Germany.
